Brie Larson confirmed as Captain Marvel

After years of rumors, Marvel has officially confirmed that Brie Larson is set to play Captain Marvel.

 Larson, who recently won the Best Picture Oscar for her performance in last year's Room, is also making rounds in Comic-con for another tentpole film, Kong: Skull Island, in which she joins another Marvel talent Tom Hiddleston. 

 The character is set to appear in the Russo Bothers' Avengers: Infinity War in 2018 before her stand-alone film in 2019.
