As a film dealing with the atrocities of poverty life, 'Pamilya Ordinaryo' surprisingly never settles on that direction alone. It is a collage of multiple atrocities in our society, and how all of it strongly affects the lives of a teenage couple longing to see their abducted child.
Ronwaldo Martin and Hasmine Killip made a memorable turn here as Aries and Jane Ordinaryo, and nailed every inch of how an informal settler would act in real life. Eduardo Roy, Jr.'s direction was commendable also on how he retains the film's rapidly moving pace on a rather simple story.
'Pamilya Ordinaryo' might not get the audience it should be getting, but everyone must go out and see this movie. And it's mostly not for the fact that it's a well-crafted film, but for the people to be familiar on what's actually happening in the real environment.
The geek rates it 8/10!
