'Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral', the sequel to 2015's hit film 'Heneral Luna', has started its pre-production.
The announcement was made through the film's official Facebook page, with Jerrold Tarog confirmed to helm again as the director and screenwriter (with Rody Vera). Fernando Ortigas and E.A. Rocha will serve as the film's producers.
The film will be focusing on expanding the character of General Gregorio "Goyo" Del Pilar from 'Heneral Luna'. It is also seeking to be the second part of a planned trilogy of films headlined by historical Filipino figures that includes Luna, Del Pilar and former President Manuel L. Quezon.
Paulo Avelino is set to reprise his role as Goyo, with Mon Confiado, Epy Quizon, Arron Villaflor, and Alvin Anson returning to their respective roles from the first film. In addition, Carlo Aquino will join the cast in an unspecified role.
'Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral' is targeting a 2018 release to be distributed by TBA.
