Cinema One Originals returns for its 14th year with the tagline "I Am Original." The film festival, which will run from October 12 to 21, 2018, is set to unveil nine (9) new feature films for its main line-up.

• 'A Short History of a Few Bad Things' by Keith Deligero
In the southern Philippine city of Cebu, a troubled detective struggles to solve a series of grisly killings, while a deep conspiracy works to keep the truth just out of his reach.
#ASUANG, the God of Sins, was once a ruthless and fickle God of Bicol, but now he is a loner and a loser who has no place in the world that is overrun by sinful human beings. He resorted to social media to regain his former glory and fame but to no avail. On his track to retirement, he was approached by the Seers to help them stop Armageddon. Along with a group of sinful misfits, Asuang will go on a quest, against his nature, to help mankind... Or so he think he will.
• 'Bagyong Bheverlyn' by Charliebebs Gohetia
Three months after her break-up with her boyfriend of 4 years, Bheverlynn conjures her sadness through a strong typhoon that can only be beaten by achieving genuine happiness. Will she manage to move-on and save the Philippines from this threat?
The film tells the story of a male Gymnast diagnosed with mental disorder.
An aging spy, his delusional wife, and promiscuous son are driven into madness as they confront the terrors caused by the monster known as The Shadow
After surviving what seems to be a drug-related incident that left her sister, LIAN, in a coma, LESLIE, a budding 20-something artist, is left in deep grief. With great guilt, Leslie is forced by her parents to go to a rehabilitation facility to recover from her drug dependency. As Leslie stays longer, she gets to uncover even more mysteries and secrets. She would later realize that the promised change is actually more sinister than it seems, and she has to do something before it’s too late.
• 'Mamu; And a Mother Too' by Rod Singh
Mamu, a middle-aged transgender sex worker is pitted into a life-changing circumstance when her transgender niece, Bona, is orphaned. She then finds herself to become a surrogate mother to a young woman who is herself on the cusp of discovering her own sexuality.
Crisanto is a middle-aged movie star who is suddenly afflicted with early onset Alzheimer’s and finds himself living in seclusion with a wife, Dolores, whose own unhappiness has becoming a sort of affliction, too.
• 'Pang MMK' by John Lapus
Being the legitimate son, Janus was given the stressful responsibility to take care of his father’s funeral. With the presence of a senator, constant phone calls from his mother (who was in the United States), and the conflict between his scandalous sister and his father’s mistress; the funeral became dramatic, chaotic, and hilarious. Pang MMK is about one’s strength of character, overcoming adversities, and facing them head strong!

OPENING FILM

Festival head Ronald Arguelles announced in a Facebook post that this year's opening film will be 'A Star Is Born' directed by Bradley Cooper. The film, which stars Cooper and Lady Gaga, is the remake of a 1954 Judy Garland musical of the same name. Opening ceremonies will be held on October 9, 2018 at Gateway Cineplex.

Festival and premium passes are now available at Kapamilya Tickets. Regular ticket prices are yet to be announced.

Cinema One Originals is announcing its partnership with the local e-commerce website Karton.ph, which has a diverse range of Filipino products from gourmet to artisanal food and beverages; natural and organic wellness; books, paintings, bags, and more.
These Filipino made products from the website will be sold during the festival, in its spirit of supporting local and independent content.
