INTERVIEW: Kiwi filmmaker Elric Kane on "THE DEAD THING", influences and creating his full-length debut

Film Geek Guy chatted with Elric Kane about his first solo full-length feature, "The Dead Thing," an erotic thriller premiering this Valentine's Day (14 February) on Shudder.

In the video interview below, the Kiwi filmmaker discussed David Lynch and other film influences, working with his actors, and exciting behind-the-scenes stories while making the film.

"The Dead Thing" follows a young woman lost in a series of meaningless connections. She falls for a charismatic and sensitive man, who hides a dark secret that turns her affair into a dangerous obsession.

The film is written by Kane and Webb Wilcoxen, and stars Blu Hunt, John Karna, Brennan Mejia, Joey Millin, Ben Smith-Petersen, and Aerial Washington.
